Cadman, a leading human rights lawyer, extradition expert, and co-head of The Guernica 37 law firm in London, met with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Monday. Their discussion focused on the urgent need to establish a domestic tribunal, with international backing, to prosecute individuals accused of crimes against humanity during the student-led revolution.

Cadman emphasized that Bangladesh requires a robust domestic legal system for truth, justice, and accountability, supported by the international community and endorsed by the Bangladeshi people.

He presented several proposals to the Chief Adviser, offering their assistance in creating a framework for the extradition of those involved in crimes against humanity, economic crimes, and political corruption who have fled the country with their illicit gains.

The Chief Adviser listened to Cadman’s proposals and requested a formal written submission. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to conducting internationally acceptable trials for those responsible for the massacre during the student-led revolution.

Professor Muhammad Yunus highlighted that one of the Interim Government’s top priorities is to recover the billions of dollars reportedly laundered during Sheikh Hasina’s 15-year autocratic regime.
